Keith F. Hobler, 70, Vandalia, IL, passed away at 11:45 PM, Friday, September 19, 2025 at SBL Fayette County Hospital. Per the family's wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A Graveside Service & Interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 26, 2025 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with Rev. Fr. Seth Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com. Keith Francis Hobler was born on August 4, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY, to William Edward and Rosamund (Chilton) Hobler. In his youth, Keith had a passion for baseball and an even greater love for fishing. He particularly enjoyed ice fishing during his time in New York. Keith participated in numerous fishing tournaments over the years, finding the greatest joy in those he shared with his great nieces and nephews. He was always eager to help others and regularly donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Keith was also a faithful a devout member of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia. He is survived by his mother Rosamund Hobler of Vandalia; brother, Robert "Bob" Hobler of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Lynn Bowers and Christine Hobler, both of Vandalia; niece, Michelle Koonce and husband Brad and their family of Brownstown. Mr. Hobler was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Hobler and his brother, William "Barry" Hobler.
