Keith Jeffery Huset, 64, passed away on February 18, 2026, in Silver Bay, Minnesota. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Keith was born on October 26, 1961, in Two Harbors, Minnesota, to Vernon and Tessie Huset. He graduated from William Kelley High School and dedicated 30 years of service to the Minnesota Historical Society at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. He was also a proud member of the local Masonic Lodge.
An avid outdoorsman like his dad and brothers, Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and—most importantly—spending time with family and friends at the beloved family cabin. He was a fantastic storyteller, able to captivate a whole room with a tale, and he loved to laugh—especially when sharing memories or swapping stories around a campfire. Keith was well known in the community for giving his time playing Santa Claus, a role he embraced with joy and heart. He never met a stranger; he was always ready with a smile and a wave, no matter what he was doing.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Tessie, and his brothers Vern, Jim, and Allen.
He is survived by his siblings Vera (Larry) Foote, Kevin (Kerry) Huset, and Lisa (Michael) Jacobson. He leaves behind his beloved furry companion, Gauge.
He is also remembered by Myra Larson, along with her sons Kenneth Ingalls and Dexter Anderson, and their children.
Keith will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread at the family cabin, where he felt more at peace than anywhere else on earth. A private gathering for this final tribute will take place at a later date.
