Michael Alton Huset

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mike Huset on April 5, 2025 at
the age of 68. He was a loving grandpa, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew,
cousin and friend to many. Mike is survived by his three children: Kevin (Jaime),
Greg (Sheri), and Nicole (Margaret); his brothers Terry (Michelle), Jeff (Bonnie),
and Gary (Pompom); his grandchildren Raven and Vada; his aunt and uncles
Donnie Huset, Donald (Judy) Knutson, and Theresa Knutson, as well as many cousins,
nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Leo and
Bonnie; his wife Cathy and many other numerous loved ones whose memories
he cherished deeply.
Mike was a shy soul, but it didn't take long before he would get talking and let me
tell you, he could talk for hours if you let him. Mike was a hard worker and liked to
constantly be on the go. When he wasn't working, Mike spent his time golfing,
fishing, and playing games with his family. A huge part of Mike was his love for
sports; whether it was sharing stories about his childhood of playing hockey,
softball and football, cheering on his kids & grandkids at their games or watching
MN sports with his family. Mike was the type of person that would give the shirt
off his back if you needed it without hesitation. If there was a way he could help
someone, he would find a way to make it happen. He was truly a very special
person to many.
A visitation and celebration of life service will be held on April 19th at Oakwood
Funeral Home in Maplewood. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.,
followed by a celebration of life service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For those
who want to join, the burial service will follow the service at St. Mary's Cemetery.
For those who would like to stay back and wait for the family to return, a
luncheon will start at 12:30 p.m.
We invite all who knew Mike to join us in honoring his memory. A fun way
we will be celebrating him is by wearing sports attire to his service, we
invite you all to do the same if you would like.
During the service, there will be a time to share memories of Mike for anyone
who wants to share. We also welcome kind words, stories, thoughts, and prayers
on the tribute wall above.
