Obituary of Keith R. Lundberg
Keith R. Lundberg, 88, died at home of natural causes on November 11, 2021, in Olympia, Washington, his home of 25 years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, pastor and friend. He was born September 6, 1933, to Roland and Margaret Lundberg in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, and grew up on his family's farm, attending a one room schoolhouse from first to eighth grade. In 1948, Roland and Margaret moved their large family to Olympia, Washington, and Keith graduated from Olympia High School in 1951.
Feeling called to the ministry, Keith earned a Bachelor's degree from Wheaton College, and a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where he met his wife, Marilyn Clauson. They were married in Rockford, Illinois, on July 28, 1958. Keith was a pastor with the Evangelical Free Church of America (1958-1996) at five church locations in Rockford, Illinois; Vashon Island, Tacoma and Vancouver Washington; and Kingsburg, California. He and Marilyn retired to Olympia, where they were active members of Hope Community Church. Marilyn passed away on September 4, 2020.
Keith was a "bigger than life" person in body and spirit. He was widely loved and respected, a fountain of wisdom, inspiration, encouragement and love. He enjoyed teasing others, and didn't take himself too seriously. Although he was left paralyzed in 2006 after a stroke, his faith and
love only grew in those last 15 hard years.
Among his many interests were family and friends, landscaping, gardening, golfing, reading, camping, and fishing. He loved studying and meditating on the Bible, and hosted and led his home group until the week he died. He prayed for his large family by name nearly every day.
Keith is survived by his son Kurt (Glenna) Lundberg; daughters, Sheryl (Russ) Noble and Sandy (Malcolm) Cameron; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Mark Lundberg; and sisters, Lois Fullington, Debbie Taubert, Ruth Price, Rachel Olson, Nancy Yeske, and Judy Petrzelka. He was predeceased by his parents, and brother, Philip Lundberg.
