Keith William May, 64, passed away on September 23, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He
was born on November 30, 1959, in Dallas, Texas to parents Adrian Kenneth May
and Kathleen Margaret (McDermott) May.
Keith was well known for his hard work ethic, his courage, his sense of adventure,
his big heart, his unique sense of humor, and his loyalty to family and friends. He
could always be counted on to lend a helping hand or to provide valuable advice
on any repairs needed for our automobiles or our homes, as he was always our
go-to guy for advice since he had hands-on experience with just about any task we
would ask him about. Keith had a love for fast cars and racing and was an avid fan
of NASCAR. He was a Chevy man, and he owned two Corvettes and at least two
Silverado trucks which he worked hard to keep in showroom condition at all times.
His sense of responsibility of ownership was also reflected in the way he took care
of his house and yard, inside and out. Keith was also a motorcycle enthusiast, and
he took many bike trips through northern Arkansas where he loved to take in the
scenery. Keith also loved sports, and he was an avid Cowboys, Mavericks, and
Rangers fan. But the greatest quality that we all know in Keith was his loyalty and
devotion to his friends, many of whom he had known since childhood or had
worked with over the last 40 years in the elevator industry. Keith demonstrated
that loyalty throughout his life even during his last year after having been
diagnosed with cancer by helping our family members and friends whenever we
would need it. And even during his last couple of months, Keith continued to fight
against the cancer to push forward to help others through his service.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents Adrian Kenneth May and Kathleen
Margaret (McDermott) May, his maternal grandfather Walter Thomas McDermott
and maternal grandmother Catherine Mary (Delaney) McDermott, uncle Philip
Walter McDermott, his paternal grandfather and namesake William Perry May
and paternal step grandmother Merle May, and nephews David Bo Earl Bryant
Jr. and Joseph Paul May.
Keith is survived by his brother Michael Paul May and his wife Nomi, brother
Ralph Neil May, sister Mary Bryant, and brother Stephen Daniel May and his wife
Ashley as well as nieces and nephews, all of whom, along with Keiths friends, will
sorely miss him. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Keith, please visit our Tree Store.
