Marcia Craig Obituary

Marcia Lee Reiners Craig left her earthly home and entered the arms of Jesus on September 20, 2025. She was born February 1, 1940, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Marion and Marcus Reiners. Most of her early life was spent in the Fort Worth area. Through her school years, she enjoyed dance, music, and discovered her artistic talent. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School and then attended TCU, where she graduated Pre-Med. At TCU, she joined the Delta Gamma Sorority, which became a sisterhood for life as she cherished these friendships until the very end.

She entered Medical School at UT Southwestern in Dallas, where she met the love of her life, Charlie. They graduated in 1966 and were married in September of that year. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Washington, D.C., for Charlie's service at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Marcy worked alongside Charlie at Walter Reed and had her first daughter (Cara) in D.C., where the family lived until their time in the service, then took them to Atlanta, Georgia. After a short stay in Atlanta, Marcy, Charlie, and Cara returned to Texas in 1968, where they established their roots, and their family grew with the arrival of their daughter, Christa, and son, Mark.

Dallas became home to the Craig Family, and Marcy began her medical practice in Pediatrics in Richardson, Texas. Although she was ahead of her time being a doctor in the 1960s, Marcy never compromised her family or motherhood for her career; her family always came first. She could always be found volunteering for her children's schools, sports teams, and everything they were a part of. She spent countless hours following her children's careers in ice skating, dance, and saw more golf courses than most people do in their lifetime, supporting her son Mark's journey as a junior golfer.

After retirement, her passion for calligraphy became her newfound career. She became known for her beautiful work and addressed invitations for hundreds of weddings and events around the country.

She and Charlie embraced the grandparent era and never missed a chance to see their grandchildren in countless performances, football games, hockey games, and even helped out with all the driving. Marcy will always be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. She could make the best of a difficult situation. She could be counted on for a smile, a reassuring hug, and, like a true Texas woman, as much sass as the situation may require.

She was a loving mother, wife, and loyal friend to many. While we will miss her greatly here on earth, we rejoice in her being whole and healed in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Marcus Reiners; her beloved husband, Charles Craig; her sister, Marlena Reiners Kackley; and her brother-in-law, Lee Kackley. She is survived by her son Mark Craig and wife, Ashley Craig of Dallas; daughter Christa Carter and husband John Carter of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter Cara Milson and husband Stuart Milson of Midlothian, Texas; her grandchildren Craig Carter and wife Laura Carter, Kyle Carter, Mary Claire Carter, Sarah Anne Carter, Harris Milson, Jack Milson and Walker Milson; great grandchild, Gayle Carter; and her niece Jane Kackley and nephew Jimmy Kackley and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Highland Country Fellowship, 8202 Boedecker Lane, Dallas, Texas 75225.
