Born in St. Louis Park, Minnesota on July 23, 1984 - Date of Death was on October 29, 2025 in Coppell Texas.
Preceded in death by his father Gregg. He is survived by Mother Sandra Strohmeier (Phoenix), Sister Rebecca Anne and Niece Peyton Joy (Minnesota), as well his son Jude. Also survived by his Partner and Love of his Life Isleen Rodriguez Cook (Texas) as well as Uncle Brad (retired Air Force) and Jen in South Dakota, Aunt Nancy and Lee in Iowa, Aunt Susan (Navy) and Andre (Navy) in Nevada and Aunt Debra in Minnesota. A few weeks preceding his death, Robert was devasted by the loss of his support animal, a beautiful Doberman named Nyxa.
After 9/11 he wanted to serve our country and although he was in the air force roll up at the time, a very persuasive Marine Recruiter got a hold of him who also became a good friend. Robert changed to the Marine Corps.
After graduation he entered the Marine Corp service in 2006 USMC-11 He didn't want to do anything but fight for his country in the Iraq war so he chose Infantry for his specialty as he wanted to be part of "Boots on the ground" which was much to his mother's dismay!
PVT Strohmeier was assigned to base at Twenty Nine Palms CA where he trained to be deployed to Ramadi, Iraq. He was in 63 missions in Iraq and during that time he received: *Rifle Sharpshooter Badge *National Defense Service Medal *Sea Service Deployment Ribbon *Iraq Campaign Medal *Global War on Terrorism Service Medal *Good Conduct Medal *Certificate of Commendation (Unit Award)
After he left the Marine Corp in 2010 he worked with a charitable organization to help fellow Marines with various home needs when they returned from Iraq. Robert came home with a bad case of PTSD as did so many from Iraq. He let it be known that any Marine who was considering suicide could call him at any time and many did. He moved to Texas where he could help his grandfather and where he could be closer to what he loved best HUNTING! He got his love and skill for hunting from his dad when they would hunt deer but he especially loved Turkey hunting and he got a couple of beautiful birds which he had mounted.
Robert made friends all over the country and still remained in touch with many especially those in the Marine Corps and according to social media, he will be missed by so many. Your condolences, thoughts and prayers for Robert are much appreciated by his family at a very difficult time.
