Keith R. McKenzie, 61, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, August 26, 2024, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born to Donald and Janet (Brockhaus) McKenzie on December 6, 1962, in Milwaukee. His family knew him as "Skeeter", a nickname his father gave him when he was young. Keith grew up in the Spencer area. He lived in Aurora Community homes in Chippewa Falls and on French Island in his adult years and would quickly become one of the favorite residents. He always enjoyed visiting with family and friends and was quick to make new friends. Keith lived life with a childish innocence and always appreciated the little things. He enjoyed taking walks with his red wagon, was fond of animals, and had a love for music and coloring. Although he had many challenges in life, Keith lived his best life. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by 5 brothers and sisters, Donald "Butch" of Oakdale, David (Pam) of Onalaska, Robert (Cindy) of Island Lake, IL, Debra (Tim) Engleman of Ham Lake, MN, and Karen (Ron) Elsing of Camp Douglas, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Janet McKenzie, 2 sisters Sharon McKenzie and Alice Wiley, and niece Lisa McKenzie.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday August 30, 2024, 11:00 A.M., at Mt Vernon Cemetery, Town of Tomah. Pastor Travis Cox will officiate. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to sonnenburgfamilyfh.com.
