Keith Allen Payton, 84, of Augusta, KS, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025. Memorial graveside service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Those attending should use the Ohio Street entrance. Keith was born in Augusta, KS on January 18, 1941, to the late Betty J. (Bucket) and Melvin D. Payton. He retired as a production support engineer at Cessna in 2002 after a long career. Keith really enjoyed music especially country and bluegrass, and he also loved automobiles and traveling. He is survived by: son, Allen Payton of Augusta; daughter, Paige Payton of Augusta; sister, Joyce Brown of Augusta; former wife, Tommie Payton. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dorvin "Sonny" Davis; and sister, Doris Plummer. Memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
