Keith H Smith

Keith H. Smith, a cherished family man, and respected community member, passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 70 in South Dayton, NY. Born on May 19, 1955, in Gowanda, NY, Keith grew into a spirited individual, and his zest for life touched everyone he met. A graduate of Pine Valley Central Schools in 1972, He had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Jones and Dr. Shaw at the South Dayton Veterinarian Clinic, where he helped take care of countless animals and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. Keith's passion for life extended beyond his professional endeavors. He was an avid fan of fishing, hunting, and bowling, which brought him immense joy and relaxation. His love for harness racing was infectious, and he could often be found cheering on his favorite horses. Keith's allegiance to the New York Yankees was unshakeable. Though predeceased by his father Howard Smith, brother Vern Smith, and sister Janet Smith, Keith's legacy lives on through his loving family. His wife of 43 years, Robin Smith, remains a testament to their enduring love and partnership. His children, Vern Smith (Makayla) and Justin Smith (Laurie), will carry forward his values of kindness and integrity. Keith was blessed with a lively brood of grandchildren: Josh, Gilberto, Dante, Christian, Delaney, Evelyn, Greyson, and Quintin, as well as great-grandchildren Kade and Marley, whose antics filled him with laughter and pride. His mother, Florence Smith, and brother, Doug Smith, remember him for his indelible strength and affection. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
