Keith Keith Sorensen

Frederick Keith Sorensen (76) of Farmington, Utah, passed away on November 6, 2023, from heart failure. Keith was born in Logan, UT on February 27, 1947, to Frederick William Sorensen and Hazel Muir. He was the third of four children and the only son.

Keith (which is how everyone knew him) is survived by his loving children Kirk Frederick Sorensen (Quincy) of Madison, AL; Stephani Sorensen Whiting (Jordan) of Midway, UT; Scott Michael Sorensen (Rachel) of Layton, UT; and Jeffrey Keith Sorensen (Justyn) of Kona, HI, ten grandchildren, and his younger sister Vicki Sorensen Doolittle (Earl) of Mendon, UT.  Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Juelle; his older sisters Rosellen Sorensen Veibell (Bruce) and Althea Sorensen Reese (Lyle); and his infant grandson.

Keith graduated from Sky View High School in 1965 and attended Utah State University, where he met his wife Juelle in a chemistry study group. They fell in love and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 2, 1970. Keith earned a BS degree in Biology in 1972.  After graduation, they moved from Cache Valley to Farmington, Utah, which became their family home. 

Keith grew up on a dairy farm in Mendon, UT, and learned about hard work from a young age.  After moving to Farmington he had a long and successful career in the construction industry and followed his passion for architectural planning and drafting on the side. He continued to advise and mentor in these fields until only months before he passed.   

Some of his hobbies included fishing, hunting, boating (as long as he could stay in the shade) landscaping and maintaining a beautiful yard, model airplanes, and sharing his woodworking talents with neighbors and friends. Keith always had an open-door policy for anyone to use his basement shop and learn from his deep experience. He loaned tools freely and always had a big heart and capacity to share what was his. 

Parenting was a source of great pride for Keith and he was eager to talk about his children and how much pride they gave him. In his later years, he became a big softy and it didn’t take much to move him to tears. Most who knew him would tell of his kind temperament as a gentle and loving father.  

Keith loved his sweetheart Juelle dearly and it gave him great purpose to help take care of her in her last few years. He is truly so happy to be reunited with her after her passing 5 years ago.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 13, at Farmington 9th Ward, 695 S 200 E, Farmington UT. Friends and family may attend the viewing from 10 - 10:45 AM at the church prior to the service. Interment at Mendon Cemetery.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary and Crematory Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
