Kellen was born April 25, 2006, in Sioux City, Iowa and adopted by Craig and Sonja Grimsley. He graduated from Lawton-Bronson High School in 2024.
After high school, he found his passion starting and developing multiple businesses from the ground up. His most rewarding work coming from EverGlo Exterior Pro services. He was pushed by his belief in himself often when others were skeptical. The partners who worked alongside him knew his drive and tenacity was unmatched. While at times he and his partners may have experienced some strife, they were truly brothers. The group surprised many with their resourcefulness and success.
Kellen absolutely loved meeting and talking to strangers to promote and expand the company and secure work. More than once he ended up spending the evening engaged in conversation in the backyard of a customer. He also enjoyed guiding and helping others who were also trying to start their own business.
Kellen enjoyed snowboarding, snowmobiling and riding motorcycles, both his dirt bike and street bike. He especially loved riding the nights with his friends. Events such as Omaha’s Ice Cream Cruise were right up his alley. He loved all kinds of animals, especially his hamster, gecko, and dog Raven.
His loss will leave a large hole in many hearts. Kellen’s love for family and friends was indisputable, and his presence would light up the room. Kellen will be dearly missed by his father Craig; brother, Louden; grandma, Barb Dyhrkopp; aunts and uncles, Mary and Charlie Hacker of Sioux City, Jerry and Judy Grimsley of Sioux City, Tom and Gina Grimsley of Sioux City, Ron and Brenda Grimsley of Sloan, Ann and Gerry Hollis of Olathe, Brenda and Mark Olson of Spirit Lake, Stephanie and Randy Chapman of Sioux City, and Chad and Jody Dyhrkopp of Sioux Falls; 26 cousins and 40 great cousins.
Kellen was preceded in death by his mom, Sonja; grandparents, Gail and Janet Grimsley; grandfather, Chris Dyhrkopp; and cousin, Zach Carter.
Honorary pallbearers are Kaine Young, Tavias Norris, Chris Klein, Kevin Klein, Jaden Goldsmith, Ashton Hodges, and Aden Ruden.
