Kelly Jeane Abbott
Bethalto - Kelly Jeane Abbott, 41, became an angel of Jesus on September 24, 2024.
Born August 11, 1983 in Alton, she was the daughter of Mark And Pamela (Zeisset) Abbott.
She attended Lewis and Clark Community College and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville earning a BS degree in psychology and sociology. After receiving her degree, she enjoyed working as a substitute teacher in the Bethalto and Roxana School Districts for many years.
Kelly was an avid crocheter creating beautiful projects for many people. She was a Spina Bifida warrior who served on the Board of Directors of the Spina Bifida of Greater St. Louis and was also the adult activity coordinator for decades. Kelly served on the children's ministry team at River Church in Alton and on a grief counseling team for several years following the passing of her fiance'. She enjoyed serving as the head scorekeeper for the Southwestern Illinois College Science Olympiad Regional and as part of the scoring team at the Illinois Science Olympiad state competition at the University of Illinois.
She is survived by her parents, Mark and Pamela Abbott; brother, Christopher Abbott and spouse, Elizabeth; brother, Daniel Abbott; nephews, Nolan Abbott and Wyatt Abbott; and good friend, Ashley Beasley.
Kelly was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chuck and Eva Faye Zeisset, Albert and Roma Abbott; fiance', Blake Beasley; aunt, Beverly Zeisset Timmins; and cousin, Officer Tyler Timmins. Kelly joined these beloved people in heaven on her Aunt Bev's birthday.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Kelly on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 10:30 am at the River Church in Alton.
The family suggests memorials to Spina Bifida of Greater St. Louis, 2705 Dougherty Ferry Rd Suite 200B, St. Louis, MO 63122 and Thrive Metro East, 4854 N. Alby St., Godfrey, IL 62035.
A private family interment will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River entrusted with arrangements.

We have many wonderful memories of Kelly...Babler State Park, SB Xmas parties, Bowling, Etc. Kelly was always so helpful and full of life!! She was always a wonderful person!! We love her and will always miss her!!
