Kelly Battershell Celebration of Life Livestream

STOW - Kelly L. (Porter) Battershell, 63, went to be with her Lord and Savior early in the morning on Friday, July 25, 2025. She passed at home surrounded by her immediate family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Denver, Colorado on March 7, 1962, and raised in Stow, Ohio. She attended Stow High School, (class of 1980), where she met her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Mike. She attended Mount Union University, where she graduated first in her class. After graduation in 1984, she and Mike married, and she began a 40+ year career at Goodyear. She was a member of Riverwood Chapel.

Kelly was a grateful believer in Jesus Christ and tried to show God’s love to all those she knew. Her commitment to her family was central to her life; she always put the needs of her loved ones above her own; she gave of her time and self freely and generously to all those she knew. She especially treasured spending time with her precious granddaughter.

Kelly is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughter, Rachel, and son-in-law, Edmund Choi; her son, Aaron; her granddaughter, Serene Choi; her mother, Barbara Porter; her father, Leo Earle Porter; and her brother, Leo Porter, II, and her sister-in-law, Angie Porter.

Calling hours will be held at Riverwood Chapel, 1407 Fairchild Avenue, Kent, OH 44240, from 10 - 11:30 AM, on Saturday, August 23, 2025. A celebration of Kelly’s life will follow immediately at 11:30 AM.

Kelly was part of a group that supported the house by providing regular meals for numerous years.
