Kelly Dalton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alexander Funeral Home, Inc. - Millersburg on Aug. 27, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Kelly Glen Dalton, age 49, of Millersburg, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2025, in his barn doing what he loved best. He was born on September 8, 1975, and throughout his life he was known for his big heart, hard work, and unforgettable laugh.

He was born in Millersburg, Ohio and was the son of Roger "Rog" Dalton and Melonie (Moore) Heilman. He went to West Holmes High School and was self-employed.

He is survived by a sister, Nichole Dalton of Killbuck, Ohio; nieces and nephews: Izabelle Reigle, Izak Reigle, Mason Miller, Olivine Pesto and Alistair Pesto; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends whom he considered family; and special friend and cousin along with her family: Mistie (Chris) Larson, Madison and Bo Kandel, Macenzi and Caleb Martin, TyLeigh and Beckley Dilly, Wrynn Kandel and Charlotte Martin. Through life's challenges, Kelly was blessed by the unconditional love and devoted friendship of Mary Mayes and Andrea and Jeff Kellogg, who faithfully stood by him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; along with Norma and Anthony Bordac, who took him under their wing and loved him dearly; a sister, Terri Pesto; and his long time faithful companion, Cowboy.

Kelly had a gift for working with his hands and especially loved scrapping and welding. But more than anything, he loved his animals and friends. He had a way of taking care of others, making them feel seen, and bringing joy to those around him. His friends meant the world to him, and his laugh-so full of life-was truly contagious. His personal motto was "loved by few, hated by many and it is what it is!"

Though his family was small, he considered many of his friends to be family, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service to honor his life and the memories he leaves behind will be held on Monday, September 1st at 1 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home with DJ McDougale officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.alexanderfhinc.com.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Holmes County Dog Wardens Department and Adoption Center.
