We are sad to announce the passing of Mr. Kelly J. Duncan, age 60, of Manchester, Tennessee. He passed away on August 5, 2025.

Kelly was born in Manchester on September 4, 1964, to Jackson and Mable Duncan. A true "jack of all trades," Kelly was a self-employed agricultural worker who could do anything he put his mind to. With a brilliant mind and talented hands, he was an engineer in every sense of the word. He designed equipment to bore holes in wood and created machine presses. Kelly's true passion was working with wood, and he was known for the beautiful rocking chairs he built and shipped to New York and California. One of his most memorable projects was creating a backyard setup for Billy Ray Cyrus, which included tables and rockers for his home. Kelly loved to share the story of his dealer delivering the furniture and being greeted by Billy Ray on horseback, who personally complimented the beautiful pieces.

Kelly was a happy person who never met a stranger and would talk to anyone. He loved to roughhouse, read books on Audible, and play video games. When his children were younger, he would even build wooden swords to play games with them.

Kelly is preceded in death by his parents, Jackson and Mable Duncan.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia Duncan; children, Desirae Duncan, Darius Duncan, and Nathan Duncan (Stephanie); and grandchildren, Ayden Duncan, Isabelle Duncan, and Haskel Duncan. He is also survived by his siblings, Robby Landers (Michelle), Jerry Duncan (Melody), and Wanda Floyd (Kenny).

Visitation will be held at Manchester Funeral Home on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Brother Keith Nunley will be officiating. Burial will follow at Butler Cemetery at 700 Duncan Rd in Manchester, Tennessee.
