Kelly Mac Henson, age 64, of Carter Lake, Iowa, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025.
He was born on October 18, 1960, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Kelly was the beloved son of Luther Henson and the late Colleen (Horton) Henson. He was a proud and devoted father, grandfather, partner, and friend.
Kelly is survived by his parents, Luther and Madonna Henson; his children, Andrea (Trevor) Raes, Ryan Henson, and Randi (Eric) Dofner; and his sister, Sherry Henson; and a host of other family and friends. He was a loving grandfather to Lulu Raes, Brody Dofner, Hunter Dofner, and Eric Dofner Jr., who brought immense joy and pride to his life. He also shared a meaningful and loving partnership with Angie Bush, and embraced her family-Tony (Emily) Bush, and granddaughters Paisley and Greenlee-as his own.
Kelly was preceded in death by his mother, Colleen, and his brother, Nathan Henson.
A lifelong Husker fan, Kelly rarely missed a game and proudly wore red on game days. He found peace and happiness at the lake, where he enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was also an avid golfer, always up for a round with Ryan and friends. He was proud to be part of the family restaurant Iowa Feed and Grain, where he spent many meaningful hours with loved ones and friends.
Kelly's greatest legacy lies in the deep love he had for his family and the countless friendships he nurtured throughout his life. His laughter, loyalty, and laid-back spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
