Kelly Bradley Jones, 64, of Eden, Vermont
Kelly left this world peacefully on March 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends after enduring a 3-and-a-half-year battle with Cancer.
Kelly was born on October 31, 1960, to Beatrice and Clifford Jones Sr.
On July 25, 1981 he married the love of his life, Sherry McLean, together representing an unbreakable bond that would continue for 43 years.
Kelly's accomplishments and the many hats he wore over his lifetime serve as proof of a man that lived life to its fullest. Kelly will be remembered for so many reasons but primarily for his strength, kindness and his sense of humor. Kelly's sense of humor could make even the unhappiest of people laugh until they cry. He willingly shared his strength, kindness and humor wherever he went.
Kelly was a hard worker throughout the entirety of his life. He strongly believed he could do anything he wanted if he worked hard enough for it. This hard-working mentality helped set the stage for him to win a VT State arm-wrestling championship and later on, a softball state championship. Everything Kelly did was done with excellence. He was an accomplished builder, seamstress, equipment operator, small business owner, and fixer of all things mechanical. Kelly finished his occupational career as the Director of Buildings and Grounds at Sterling College in Craftsbury working alongside one of his best friends, Steve Smith.
Music was another passion of Kelly's. Many will remember the Silver Wings Band, a group of close friends with whom Kelly spent many years entertaining with all over Vermont.
Kelly comes from a family with strong roots in deer hunting so it was no surprise that he became an avid hunter. Even with Stage four Cancer, he continued to "show you [us] how it's done", successfully harvesting trophy deer every year of his battle. In his final years, his family and friends joined the effort to establish a hunting camp in NH. This camp would become his "happy place" where so many memories were made and will continue to be made as we cherish his beloved camp in his honor.
No matter what he did, or where he went, what always mattered most to him was being a father and grandfather. Kelly is survived by his four children, Jason (Jeana), Liza (AJ), Kody (Brittany), and Jacob, and his five grandchildren Jada, Maya, Ryder, Archer, and Elsie. All of whom he will forever be a role model for how to live life with joy, grace, and relentless positivity no matter what life brings. Even when he was suffering, he could still fill a room with laughter. It's in this way that he touched so many people so many we could never quantify.
Kelly is also survived by his Mother and Father-in-law Ronald and Mary McLean, Brothers, Clifford Jones Jr., Randy Jones. Sisters Carolyn, Elaine, and Linda, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He leaves behind two special nephews, Stevie and Jimmy (his "Buddy Boy"), The "Billy Boys", Bubba (Marvin Whitcomb), Billy Ray (Mike Griggs), Steve "Smitty" Smith (& cousin Val) and pre-deceased by Billy Ed (Eddie McLean). Kelly was also predeceased by his siblings Stephen (Steve) Jones Sr., Colin Jones, and Mary Jones. We have no doubt they're all loving Kelly's company on the other side along with his "Roadie" Aunt Jean (Smith) and beloved nephew Derrick (Buffy) Wagner, all souls who were taken far too soon.
The Jones family would like to thank everyone who has supported us, and Kelly throughout the past few years of his courageous battle with this all-to-common disease. He would've never been able to exceed all expectations without your help.
Per Kelly's request a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 22, 2025 at the Hyde Park V.F.W from 2–5 PM. Please join us to honor Kelly's life.
Memorial contributions in Kelly's name can be made to the Lamoille Area Cancer Network or Lamoille Home Health & Hospice.
