Kelly Gene Kryger passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, in Anamosa, Iowa. Visitation Monday, June 16, 2025, from 9:00 am until the time of the 11:00 am. Funeral Service at the Cedar Memorial Park, Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Kelly Kryger under the video tab starting at 11:00 am, Monday, June 16, 2025. Interment will be private.
He was born on December 14,1966, to Clifford and Barbara (Rask) Kryger. He graduated from Central City High School 1985. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corp. Upon honorable discharge from the Marine Corp. Kelly worked as a Union Carpenter for Hina Environmental in Columbus, Ohio and later returned to Iowa. Kelly loved riding his Harley (especially his yearly ride with his brother Charlie Brown), travelling the United States, working on Hot Wheels and going to Iowa Hawkeye football games with Taylor, Justin and Deb. He loved to spend time with his family and his dogs. Kelly was quite the jokester and always made people laugh. Kelly was known to light up every room he was in with his contagious smile and outgoing personality. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Kelly is survived by his children; Taylor (Justin Hargraves) Kryger and Kerissa Jones (Kryger); mother, Barbara Kryger-Giese; life partner; Debra Minnick; best friend, Kristen Kryger; siblings, Pam (Charlie) Brown; and Richard (Shana) Giese; and niece Stacy Feld, and nephews Travis Knapp, Chad and James Kryger. His beloved dog children, Harley and Maya.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Kryger, Sr.; siblings, Clifford Kryger, Jr., and Danny Jo Kryger; his maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Kelly's neighbors, Joy and Carol, for their love and support.
