Kelly R. Smith 62, Ocala, FL

Formally Watertown, NY & the 1000 Island Region

Kelly R. Smith, 62, of Oak Run, Ocala, Florida, passed away on 01/31/2026, at her home with her loving family by her side. Kelly was born on April 21, 1963, in Mt. Clemmons, Michigan, to Terrance and Elsie (Silas) Smith. Kelly spent her former years in Watertown, NY, graduating from Watertown High School and SUNY Jefferson Community College with an AOS in Hospitality & Tourism.

Following her graduation, Kelly embarked on a dedicated career in the restaurant field in the Watertown and 1000 Island region. In 1999, Kelly began her 20-year career with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, first as the Food Service Administrator II and then was promoted to Deputy Superintendent for Administration at Willard Drug Treatment Campus in Willard, NY.

Kelly had many passions in life, including spending quality time with her family, indulging in her love of working in her flower beds, reading, the thrill of the casino, and riding her beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Kelly is survived by her devoted daughters, Teasha McCarthy and Danielle VonKotz of Ocala, Florida, her sons, Travis & Johanna Youngs of Ramstein, Germany, and Frank G. Smith III of Ocala, Florida. Kelly also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Bailey, Keaghan, Alanna, Wyatt, and Dakota. And a very spoiled 15-year-old Yorkie named Molly.

Her Sisters are Julie & Jeffery Barcomb, Darleen & Gary LaRose, and Dawn Sweet. Her Brothers: Terrance Smith, John & Amy Smith, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Kelly is preceded in death by her loving husband Frank G. Smith II of 40 years, her father, Terrance J. Smith Sr. & her mother, Elsie Smith

Per Kelly, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life and scattering of her and Frank's ashes will be held at the family's convenience.

Kelly held close to her heart her family, her inner circle, her outer circle, and acquaintances. So, when you see a dragonfly, know she is with you.
