Kelcey Willie Silversmith, known affectionately by loved ones as Kels or Kelso, born on the 21st of July in 1990 in Portland, OR, returned to our Heavenly Father on August 9, 2025. As his friend, Malina, I had the honor of knowing Kelcey as an adventurous, funny, loving, and loyal individual who lived his life doing what he loved most-embracing the great outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He was an exceptional man who, although he was baptized by the LDS church, believed in the fundamental equality of all people, irrespective of their religious affiliations.
Kelcey's welcoming spirit drew people towards him like a magnet. He had a heart as vast as the Utah landscapes he loved to explore. His humor entertained us, his love warmed us, and his loyalty reassured us. He was a jack of all trades, a master of multi-tasking, and an accomplished individual who could turn his hand to anything. His skills ranged from welding to construction and landscaping, but most importantly, he was a steadfast friend and a devoted family man. Over the years, he resided in different parts of Utah, from his birthplace in Portland to Woods Cross and eventually settling in Ogden. But no matter where he was, Kelcey managed to make every place feel like home.
Kelcey is survived by his loving parents, Wilford and Shirley Silversmith, his sister Felisha Alveraz, and family members Malina and Stacy Silversmith. His family was his world, and he was our rock. His love for fishing, hiking, camping with his wife and brother, and annual wrestling matches were more than just hobbies, they were a testament to his adventurous spirit. He showed us the beauty of life, the joy of laughter, and the strength in unity. He taught us that love is more than a feeling-it's an action. He loved us all unconditionally, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Kelcey's life was a testament to his favorite verse from the Book of Mormon, "Charity never faileth…" (Moroni 7:46). He embodied this verse in his daily life, showing us the real meaning of charity-love in action. We will forever cherish his stories, laughter, and enduring love.
We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Kelcey on his memorial page, as we celebrate his extraordinary life and the joy he brought into ours.
