Ken Marshall Cox, 85 of Higginsville, Missouri formerly of Dover, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Lafeyette Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Dover Christian Church, 141-147 Locust Street. Dover, MO, 64022. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m., at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at Dover Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital. Ken was born on July 9, 1940, in Leeton, Missouri to Roy and Mary (Bratten) Cox. In 1958, he graduated from Lexington High School. Ken first worked for Lake City, then later worked as an oiler and operator for Texas Utilities. Ken honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Army. On Christmas Eve, Ken was united in marriage to Virginia Frances (Brockert) Cox. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2007. Ken was a proud member of the VFW 4052 and found solace in his faith as a devoted attendee of Dover Christian Church. He possessed a great passion for hunting and was an avid reader.
Ken is survived by one child, Jeff Cox; one grandchild, Dakota Cox Darnell; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Cretzmeyer; two brothers, Steve (JoAnn) Cox and Tony (Jeanette) Cox; a long time friend, Carrie Smith; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by both his parents, and wife, Virginia Cox; a niece, Kelly Cox; two brothers-in law.
