Ken Parker, 74, of Delafield WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 2, 2023. Ken was born on September 25, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI to Dolores and Orville Parker.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cathy (Semmelmann); his children, Nichole (Chad) Neumann, Joseph (Jessica) Parker, Sarah (Simon) Provan; his adoring grandchildren, Grace, Andrew, Kiera, Bethany, Adam, Jacob, Lucas, and Ivy; his siblings, Thomas Parker and Linda Cutting; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Parker; father, Orville Parker; sister, Marilyn (Putzie) Knoebel; and brother, Richard Parker.
Ever the protector, Ken served in Vietnam as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army. When he came home, he continued to serve and protect his community with 30 years of dedication to the Milwaukee Police Department from February, 1970 to September, 2000.
Ken lived a Christ centered life and shared his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with many. He attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School where he met the love of his life, Cathy, and his life-long friends. He was a proud member of Woodlawn Lutheran Church in West Allis, WI until he moved to Delafield where he found his new church home, Reformation Lutheran Church in Dousman, WI.
Ken enjoyed old cars, our dog Molly, many fishing trips with his friends, taking his wife Cathy out on the lake to fish on their yearly vacations and teaching his children and grandchildren how to bait a hook and hold a fish without getting hurt. Ken also enjoyed playing football and baseball in his high school days, playing in the "blood bowl" with the guys, and coaching his kids' little league teams. He will be remembered for his goofy jokes, gruff exterior, and his unfailing love and loyalty for his family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Reformation Lutheran Church, S39 W32887 Co Rd D, Dousman, WI 53118 on June 24, 2023 from 9am-11am with a Christian funeral service at 11am. Military honors will be immediately after the service. A luncheon and burial will follow. I haven“t seen Ken since before he retired from the Milwaukee Police Department in 2000 and me in 2001. Always a great guy with a joke or comment. Enjoyed our weightlifting discussions also. Always asked him why he looked so much stronger than me. May God watch over your family during this difficult time. RIP Ken
