Kendall Jay Guthrie, 61, of Lee County, died Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his home. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Born in Morehead City, NC, Mr. Guthrie had lived in Lee County since 2022 , moving here from Jacksonville, FL. He was a graduate of East Carteret High School, received his bachelor's degree from Oral Roberts University and his Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. He used his faith and passion for people to lead several congregations in his ministerial career, lastly having served Christ Church of Peace in Jacksonville, FL.Prior to his illness, Mr. Guthrie was an Operations Manager with Albany Area Primary Healthcare.
Survivors include his husband Terry Bowen, children, Cara Sue Guthrie, Jesse Aaron Guthrie (Wife Kandace) and 5 wonderful grandchildren, his mother, June Carolyn Guthrie, brother Stacy Guthrie (Wife Kelli) and his former wife, Sandra Perrin Guthrie.
