Kendyl Peebles Obituary

Kendyl Peebles

December 15, 1961 -

July 18, 2025

Kendyl Berkeley Peebles, 63, of Big Lake, Minnesota, completed his battle with cancer on the morning of July 18, 2025.

Born on December 15, 1961, in Charlottesville, Virginia, Kendyl grew up in Johnson City. He was the beloved son of Athena Peebles and the late Robert Peebles.

Kendyl is survived by his loving wife, Debra Seagroves Peebles; his children, Shea Wild (Gus), Gwyn Feuerstein, and Kristen Kelly; and his grandchildren, Draven, Ronin, and Kimi. He is also survived by his brothers, Shawn Peebles (Anna) and Andrew Peebles (Christie), along with several cherished nieces and nephews.

A man of many talents and interests, Kendyl had a deep love for woodworking, crafting imaginative and skillful pieces. He was passionate about fantasy literature and gaming, often escaping into richly imagined worlds. Music was a constant companion throughout his life, whether he was listening, playing, or simply enjoying the atmosphere it created; it brought him comfort, joy, and inspiration. His fascination and natural ability to fix things reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and creative problem-solving.

Kendyl's humor, wit, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

May his memory bring peace and comfort to all who mourn his loss.

Kendyl was a friend of my children from the time that he and my older son started four year old kindergarten. From the time the boys began Junior High, Kendyl spent many weekends with us at our "farm" in the mountains. He was a truly good friend to each of us and to everyone who knew him; a gentle, kind soul.

Kendyl and I played clarinet in band together for years. He was always my biggest competitor and we became good friends. He was a such a nice guy and I know he will be greatly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Prayers for all of his family as you navigate this difficult time.

So very sorry to hear this. I was in band and played clarinet also with Kendyl. He was a year younger, a competitor and such a nice guy all around. Prayers are lifted for the family of such a special person!

My heart breaks for Kendyl's family, I know how much his family meant to him and how proud he was of his daughter Shea and her kids. There was never a time when we chatted that he wouldn't brag about what an amazing person she was and how much she amazed him every day. He was always recommending a good fantasy novel and introduced me to Terry Brooks novels. He will be greatly missed by everyone who loves him.

I have to admit that our paths never crossed while Kendyl was here on earth, but I can say if he was anything like his brother Timothy/Shawn then he was a good soul!

I did take the time and go completely through his pictures on his FB page and he certainly had the Peebles sense of humor that I so enjoy!!

May God bless everyone that his life touched with a peace that surpasses all our understanding and may the memories you made stay with you now and in the days ahead.

Kendyl & I first met in Pre-School and since then, I had my absolute birthrate twin. 12-15-1961. Knew him from then on through High School. He was always such a nice and likeable guy. Always his wit & humor. We enjoyed seeing each other at HS reunions & gabbing about the Old days with all our old friends. Facebook has been great to see his fantastic creations & hold on to his wit & humor. He loved his years of ballroom dancing with you Debra. God bless you all, and to us his friends, we were all blessed to know him!

I met Kendyl when we were both 4-years old at First Methodist Church kindergarten in Johnson City. Just like the book says, everything you need to know you learn in kindergarten-be nice, have a good sense of humor, share your things, and most of all have fun. Kendyl did all of those things well and that´s why all the girls in the class loved Kendyl. (Including me- I´m the girl in white sitting on Kendyl´s left in the picture) He was an all-around- great little guy them and always. All these years later we were able to drop right back into conversation without missing a beat. Condolences to his family especially his sweet mom- he will be missed.
