Kenith Amos Allen

Kenith Amos Allen, 93, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023. He was born to Grant Belliston and Wanda Pearl Francom Allen on February 11, 1929, in Nephi, Utah. He was raised in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School.

 

He married his high school sweetheart, Cleoma Sanders, on March 31, 1948, in the Manti Utah Temple.

 

After leaving Nephi with his young family, Kenith and Cleoma relocated to Ogden where he built his own home in Riverdale and raised his family. He loved spending time with his family, and all his grandkids and great-grandkids have said that they will always remember and miss their grandpas’ great hugs.

 

Kenith’s many hobbies included woodworking with his scroll saw, carving, whittling, as well as gardening.

 

He owned and operated Sanders Tropical Fish Hatchery and he later became part owner and operator of Sanders Brine Shrimp Co.

 

After retirement he and Cleoma purchased a second home in St. George, Utah where they spent time with friends hiking, playing cards, and exploring Southern Utah. He also picked up a love for playing golf.

 

Kenith and Cleoma enjoyed traveling the world including trips to China, Russia, Taiwan, Africa, Turkey, and India and many more.

 

Kenith was a faithful member of the Riverdale 1st Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many ward and stake callings.

 

Kenith loved spending time with his sweet wife at the Riverdale Senior Center, where he enjoyed playing Bingo and eating lunch while visiting with his many friends.

 

Kenith is survived by Cleoma his sweetheart of 74 years; children, Sherrie (Dale) Hadley, Penny (Carl) Bates, Gary (Kay) Allen; and 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly; his parents; his brother, Glen; and granddaughter, Aubrey Allen.

 

Friends may visit with family on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Dedication of the grave will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
