Kenneth Beck, age 66 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Faunt LeRoy Park in Gatesville with Rev. Bob Phillips officiating.
Kenneth Eugene Beck was born on May 3, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas, to Norman and Janie Covey Beck. He grew up and attended school in San Antonio. After high school, he joined the United States Army, working as a helicopter mechanic at Fort Hood. He later worked for several oil refineries as well as in construction, helping build TDCJ prison units. He also worked locally in construction, building homes in and around the Gatesville area. He later became a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In December of 1983, Kenneth married Karen Paul and the two made their home in Gatesville.
Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family at BBQ events, as well as hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, listening to classic rock music, and having his dog, Chelsea near him. Most of all though, he loved spending time with his “good buddy” Jax, his only grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Beck; mother, Janie Warmack; Stepfather, Rueben Warmack; and brother, Neal Warmack.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Karen of 40 years; daughters, Karli Williams and husband, Maverick, and Kodie Mitchell and husband, Steven; grandson, Jackson Eugene Mitchell; sister, Karen Adkins and husband, Terry of Angleton; brothers, Stanley Beck and wife, Kathy of North Carolina, and Timothy Beck and wife, Teresa of Hico; sister-in-law, Cheryl Fain and husband, Teddy of Moody; mother and father-in-law, Edith and Ronald Paul; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Chelsea.
