Kenneth E. Becker

Kenneth "Ken" E. Becker of Rockford, Ill., passed away on March 12, 2026. Born October 3, 1939, in Amboy, Ken was the son of Florence Warkins Becker and Walter Becker. Ken was raised in Maytown and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic Grade School in 1953. At Amboy High School, Ken pitched for the baseball team before graduating at the age of 17.

After high school, Ken enlisted in the Army and served in active duty for two years at the 82nd airborne division in NC and spent time at Westpoint, NY.

Ken attended University of Illinois, and he moved to Rockford in September 1962. In September 1969, he opened his Ken Becker Realtors office. He was the Relator of the year in sales for 2 years in real estate at the age of 24.

Ken served as director at Rockford Apartment Association for 35 years and had three Relator distinctions, GRI, CRS, and CRB. Ken proudly served as a Relator for 60 years. Additionally, he was a member of Holy Family Church and a member of American Legion.

Ken is survived by his three siblings, Pat (David) Schmidt, Sharon (Al) Preston-Black, and Jim (Rita) Becker; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Becker and Theresa Becker; and dozens of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, LeRoy Becker, Walter "Sonny" Becker Jr., and Don Becker.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 24, from 10:30 to 11:15 am at Holy Family Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd, Rockford, IL 61107, with mass beginning at 11:30 am. Burial will take place at 3:30 pm at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Amboy, IL.
