Kenneth Brown, 65, of Doylestown, PA, passed away suddenly on June 11, 2025 while on vacation in Antigua. He was the beloved husband of Kimberly, with whom he shared 35 joy-filled years of marriage.
Ken was born on May 28, 1960, to the late Edward G. Brown and Dorothy M. Brown (née Lux) in Philadelphia, PA. Ken grew up in Somerton where he attended St. Christopher's Catholic School and Archbishop Ryan High School. After graduating Temple University, Ken began a successful career in Information Technology.
On June 9, 1990, Ken married the love of his life, Kim. Together, they raised four daughters, Kelly, Kiersten, Kasey, and Karly. In 2023, his first grandchild, Rhys, was born, and Ken proudly and lovingly took on his new role as "Pop-pop."
As a husband, father, and Pop-pop, there was no limit to Ken's love, strength, and gentleness; he filled his home with an unconquerable optimism and a contagious sense of humor. Through his deeply hopeful and peaceful spirit, he taught his family that every problem had a solution, every storm could be faced - and that brighter days were always ahead.
Ken will always be remembered for his deep commitment to his Catholic faith. He was a proud member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Buckingham, where he dedicated many years of service as a parishioner, an Athletic Director, a CYO coach, and a participant in many parish activities. Through his example, he taught his daughters the importance of keeping faith at the center of their lives and always reminded them "God has a plan." In addition to his faith, Ken had a deep love for his country and took great pride in being an American. He lovingly flew the American flag whenever he had the opportunity, celebrated every patriotic holiday, and lived with constant gratitude for the many blessings of this country.
Ken will also be remembered for his love for sports - as a player, a coach, and a fan. As a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan, one of his proudest achievements was being a Phillies season ticket holder for 36 years. His wife and daughters will forever cherish the memories of countless summer nights spent with him at the ballpark, faithfully cheering on his beloved Phils through all the wins (and many losses). In addition to watching the Phils and the Eagles, Ken also loved to golf and looked forward to weekly outings with his friends and youngest daughter Karly.
Ken had a great love for life, and found joy in his many hobbies and passions. From enjoying the beaches of Cape May and the Outer Banks, to attending hundreds of concerts of his favorite artists and bands, to devouring books on many different topics, he appreciated every moment. Ken especially cherished moments of celebration with his family and friends, and loved organizing parties for any and all occasions. Whether for bridal showers, baby showers, playoff games, engagement parties, holidays, birthdays - or his famous pregame tailgates - Ken always was ready to fire up the grill and take his legendary and irreplaceable role as bartender. He'll always be remembered for his meticulously researched and lovingly prepared cocktails and drink recipes. For him, it was always about bringing joy to other people, and he never missed an opportunity to grin, point at you, and say, "anything from the bar?"
Ken never took a single day for granted. As a survivor of melanoma, he was grateful for every moment and lived everyday like it was his last. His family and loved ones will continue on his legacy, and look forward with great hope to the day when we will all be together again.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife Kimberly Brown (née Livada), his adoring daughters Kelly Brown (engaged to Tyler Burkhart), Kiersten Himmel (Eric), Kasey Massaro (Chris), and Karly Harney (Sean); his mother Dorothy M. Brown (née Lux); his brother Edward Brown (Jobi); his grandson Rhys Burkhart; two grandchildren due to be born in December 2025; and many family members and friends. He was predeceased by his loving father Edward G. Brown (2002) and his dear sister Christina Brownstein (2024).
Relatives and friends are invited to share in Ken's Life Celebration on Thursday, July 10th, at John F. Givnish of Buckingham, 4886 York Road, from 6:00 to 9:00pm and Friday, July 11th, at the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, from 9:00 to 10:45am, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 am. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
