Kenneth Brown Sr. Obituary
It is with deep gratitude, we remember and celebrate the life of our beloved father, Kenneth Allen Brown Sr, who went home peacefully on January 15, 2026, at the age of 79 in Pensacola, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pennie Dora Wilbur; his children Kenneth Allen (Becky) Brown Jr., Karen Ann (Kyle) McPhail, and Keith Anthony (Rachel) who will carry his memory forward with honor; his grandchildren, Kenneth III (Erika), Kayla, Kevin (Lauren), Osheane, and Dominic; his great-grandchildren, Akira Holbert, Jay, Derek, Olivia, Allison, Kehlani Holbert, and Anthony; preceded in death by his parents, Edward James Brown and Marion May Rogers, and his sister Marion Mae (William) Brady; his siblings, Dorothy Susan (Donald) Harris, Chester (Kyoto), Alice Mae (Grant) Tucker, Donald Charles Harris, Manifred Chester Harris, and Cindy Lynn (David) Bain; and his close companion pet dogs Monkey and Josie.
Born on February 25, 1946, in
Cambridge, NY and grew up in
Schuylerville, NY, he lived a life shaped by perseverance and purpose. Whether through his career, service, or simple daily routines, he modeled humility and generosity. He had a steady hand, a listening ear, and a heart that made room for others. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by kindness and quiet strength. He was the kind of man who showed love in only a way he could. He taught us the value of a hard day's work and that true, enduring love is shown through silent sacrifice to those entrusted to him. His family was his greatest joy, and he took deep pride in providing for them and offering steady support through example.
Kenneth worked at Sagamore Paper Mill (1 year), United Board Paper Mill (7 years), and S&T Paper Mill (35 years). He made close friends with co-workers while working at the paper mill including Walt Fish, Grant Tucker, William Brady and many others.
To those who knew him well, he will be remembered for his humor (the best comedian he knew), work ethic, compassion, and for the way he made people feel, valued and secure. He will also be known for consuming hotdogs, big bowls of ice cream and tall glasses of Diet Pepsi. He enjoyed playing pool, fast-pitch softball, and watching WWF wrestling. In his later years, he delighted in watching The Price is Right, Family Feud and Ice Roads. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
Though we mourn his passing, we give thanks for the gift of his life and the enduring impact he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed. May God look over him and receive him with open arms. King Solomon wrote in the Book of Proverbs reflecting on character, reputation, and legacy, as it speaks of how a person is remembered. This is clearly expressed as follows:
"The memory of the righteous is a blessing" - Proverbs 10:7
