Kenneth Ray Cattaneo

Kenneth Ray Cattaneo, 78, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on December 17, 2024, at his residence.
Kenneth was born on June 23, 1946, to Ernest Allen and Josephine (Prete) Cattaneo in Pittsburg, KS. On October 11, 1968, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Jones. After 56 years of marriage, he still called her his bride. She survives of the home.
Kenneth graduated from Mulberry high school in 1964. He learned the printing trade by helping his mother publish the Mulberry News Journal after his father passed. He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the army from February 1969 through December of 1970. He graduated from Kansas State Teachers College with a Bachelors in Printing Management in 1968 and went on to get his masters in industrial education in 1975. He then worked as a teacher at Turner High School and moved on to work in printing management sales at several Kansas City Print shops. He was a real people person and worked for Addressograph Multigraph in sales through several company mergers for 29 years. He was a kind and gentle soul and always put others before himself. If you were around him, he made you feel like you were very important and he wanted to hear your story.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Cattaneo of Pittsburg, KS; a son, Peter K. Cattaneo of Pittsburg, KS; a daughter, Tess E. Carl (Todd) of Frontenac, KS; and a brother, Dr Ernest A Cattaneo of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren, Gabriel Carl of Wichita, KS, and Jonah Carl of Frontenac, KS. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter-in-law, Samantha Cattaneo.
A parish rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Friday, December 20, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Caleb Kuestersteffen as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Frontenac, KS. The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Hospice and/or PSU Printing Graphics Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
