Kenneth C. Colgrove, age 80, of Alexandria, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, with his loving wife, Kathy, by his side after a long and courageous battle with ongoing health challenges and is now free of pain. A Funeral Service and Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 2nd, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. A Celebration of Life will be held later that day starting at 3:30 PM at the Eagles in Alexandria, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made payable to Home On The Range and given to Ken's family.
Ken was born May 22, 1945, in Mott, North Dakota to Irma (Vasey) and Albert Colgrove. He graduated from North Sargent High School in Gwinner, North Dakota, in 1963. Ken was a proud Vietnam Veteran, serving in the Army as a Medic. He was employed at Fingerhut for 35 years, and was the plant manager of the Alexandria Fingerhut for the last 19 years of employment.
On November 22, 1969, Ken was united in marriage to Susan Claude, and had one son, Brett. They were later divorced. On October 24, 1992, Ken was united in marriage to Kathleen (Kitty) Theisen, whom he first met at the roller rink in 1967.
Ken was a life member of the VFW, as well as a member of the VVA, American Legion, Elks, and Eagles. At the Eagles, he was a very active member holding offices and volunteering. He enjoyed softball, bowling, golf, hunting, and fishing. Ken was larger than life, a loyal friend, and a wonderful cook. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kitty; children, Cindy, Stephanie (Jason); daughter-in-law, Tracee, stepdaughter-in-law, Jessica; brothers, Albert (Delores), Vernon (Susan), sisters Alberta (Vern) Hemminger, and Janice (Rod) Peterson; sister-in-law, Eileen Colgrove; brother-in-law, Richard Theisen; and sisters-in-law, Donna (Doug) Novak, and Laura Burns; grandchildren, Shelby, Abbigail, Karley (Ricky), Hailee, Cooper, Sawyer, Kelisha, Kashia, Kordell; and step-grandchildren, Amiyah and Nyland; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brett; stepson, Travis; and brothers, Leroy, Clarence, and Arthur.
