Kenneth F. Collins, a resident of Beacon and formerly of Newburgh passed away at home with his loving wife by his side on December 9, 2025. He was 78 years old.

Born on October 19, 1947 in the Bronx, Kenneth was the son of the late Francis and Margaret Hughes Collins.

In 1966 Ken enlisted in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division transitioning into the First Cavalry Division. He served 3 tours in Vietnam and was awarded The Silver Star and several Purple Hearts. He was Honorably discharged in1969 as a Sargent. He was a life member of the VFW, past commander of the American Legion Judson P. Galloway Post 152 in Newburgh, a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, The Khe Sahn

Veterans and a member of the Elks Club. Ken was a lifelong Yankees fan.

Ken is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda Miller-Collins; his sister and brother, Carolyn St. John (Steven) and Michael Collins (Carol); his daughters Jennifer Steger and Tara Collins (Matt); his grandchildren, Emily Strapinsky (Seth), Sophie Steger, Jillian Hanlon and Adam Hanlon; several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews .

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Janice Martin and his niece, Alexis Cone.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2025 at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon. Military honors will follow the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either America's VetDogs at www .VETDOGS.org/donate or to VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System Castle Point, 41 Castle Point Road, Wappinger Falls, NY 12590.
