Kenneth Dafoe Obituary
Kenneth married Emily Gabanyicz on July 22, 2006, in Port Huron.
Ken proudly served his country as a Navy SEAL who earned a Purple Heart during his service in Vietnam. Seaman DAFOE participated in over one hundred sixty combat patrols as part of "Navy River Assault Squadron 15" and received the Navy Commendation Medal, stating, "His exemplary professionalism, devotion to duty, and courage under fire were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service." Ken was also a member of the Disabled Veterans Association for over 50 years.
Ken was the owner and operator of K.C. Trucking for 25 years in St. Clair County, driving an accomplished record of 3 million miles while trucking. He was a dedicated member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Port Huron, where he was actively involved as a part of the Praise Team and helping with the Food Pantry. He loved music and sharing it with others; he played the keyboard during church services and taught band at two parochial schools.
Ken is survived by his wife Emily of 19 years as well as two sons, Mark (Judy) Gabanyicz and Dave (Kathy) Gabanyicz; two grandsons, Andrew (Holly) and Zack.
The family honors the memory of Kenneth and invites you to attend funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Rev. Mark Huff will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Yale.
Memorials are suggested to the Faith Lutheran Food Pantry.

I met Ken in 80's we were both owner operator truck drivers at Central Transport in Port huron, i remember him as a very good hard working driver, always willing to help others whenever he could.
