GOUVERNEUR – Kenneth G. Davenport, age 87, of Gouverneur, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at home under the care of his daughters and hospice.

Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home in Gouverneur on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service with military honors held in the Lowville Rural Cemetery on Friday at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Skip Edie. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

Ken was born on July 20, 1938 in Edwards to the late Ward and Madeline (Kleingartner) Davenport. He married Rosalyn J. Hall on May 25, 1957 in Nicholville. Rosalyn passed away on June 26, 2015.

Mr. Davenport served in the United States Airforce for 20 years and 17 days before he retired as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and received his Honorable Discharge on September 20, 1975. He then was a Government Service Employee on Fort Drum as an Automotive Worker for the Wheel Vehicle Repair Section where he worked on the Humvees.

Ken enjoyed woodworking, collecting stamps and baseball cards, and fishing. He was a member of the Canton VFW.

Ken is survived by his daughters, Mary G. and Robert Gleason and Rose D. Davenport, four grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Rosalyn, siblings, Marion St. Andrews, Virginia O'Hearn, and Warren, and Donald Davenport, and half-brothers, Charles and Earl Davenport.
