Louise Davenport Obituary

Louise Madeleine (Soulière) Davenport, 85, of Chappaqua, New York, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, surrounded by family. Louise is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Peter; her children, Andrew Davenport (and his wife, Lisa) and Nathalie Caso (and her husband, Andy); five beloved grandchildren, Chloe, Sophie, Bradley, Sydney and Hannah; and many dear family members in Canada and the United Kingdom.
Born on April 10, 1940, in Montréal, Canada, Louise lived a full and vibrant life, marked by curiosity and compassion. Her journey took her far and wide – from Montréal, to Sydney, Australia, and Cobham, England – before settling in Chappaqua, New York, in 1986.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Louise could often be found rooting on the New York Giants every fall, the Montréal Canadiens during the winter months, and her beloved Yankees every spring and summer - she was always ready to debate a close call, batting line ups, or a controversial player trade.
Louise was equally passionate about giving back to her community. For decades, she dedicated herself to philanthropic causes, volunteering her time working at local charity stores and raising money for Northern Westchester Hospital. She enjoyed her volunteer work, and the people she worked with, enormously.
An avid bridge player, Louise cherished the friendships and competition that came with each of her weekly bridge game groups. Intelligent and endlessly curious, she approached bridge, and everything else in life, with an open heart and an inquisitive mind.
Above all, though, Louise lived for her family - especially her five grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. She never missed a chance to attend a school choir concert, a softball game, or a graduation, and lived to hear tales from her two granddaughters far away, in Australia.
A celebration of Louise's life will be held on Saturday, December 20th at 11:00am at Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center in Avon, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Support Connections for Breast and Ovarian Cancer, 40 Triangle Center, Suite #100, Yorktown Heights, NY, 10598, or supportconnections.org.
