Jerzy Stanislaw Jedrychowski, M.D., 78, beloved husband for 48 years of Stella (Lokiec) Jedrychowski, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, surrounded by his family at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. Born in Jelenia Gora, Poland on August 1, 1947, son of the late Franciszek and Marianna (Gajos) Jedrychowski, he was raised in Poland before immigrating to the United States in 1977.
After graduating from the Technikum Chemiczne in Kostrzyn, Poland, he continued his education at Wroclaw Medical University where he graduated with the Class of 1976. Shortly after medical school, Jerzy married Stella and settled in Hartford. He studied English and soon after arriving in Connecticut he took his medical boards and passed becoming a licensed physician in the United States.
Dr. Jedrychowski practiced medicine at the Veterans Hospital in Rocky Hill for several years before opening his own practice in New Britain. Together with his wife, Stella, Dr. Jedrychowski became a foundational pillar of the communities in which he lived and worked, caring for tens of thousands of patients over four decades, many of whom were fellow Polish immigrants and first-generation families. He loved practicing of medicine and cared deeply for his patients-many of whom he considered friends and with whom he maintained lifelong personal relationships.
In his spare time, Jerzy enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, especially his wife, two sons, grandchildren, nephew, sister and brother-in-law, all of whom he was immensely proud of. He found great joy in the summer months swimming and relaxing with his family and friends.
A devout Catholic throughout his life, he was an active parishioner of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford since moving to Connecticut and while he was staying in Old Saybrook, he was a communicant of St. Pio Parish – St. John Catholic Church in Old Saybrook.
In addition to his wife, Stella who was his faithful partner in life and in his work as a physician, he leaves two sons, Eric Jason Jedrychowski of Boston, MA and Mark Jedrychowski, Ph.D. and his wife Carla of Sudbury, MA; two grandchildren, John and Aubrey Jedrychowski both of Sudbury, MA; a sister, Elizabeth Bronska-Madej and her husband Lech of Colchester; a nephew, Mark Bronski and his wife Sarah and their children, Anna and Henry of Whiteville, NC; a sister-in-law, Michelle Aleksandrowicz and her husband Chester of Wareham, MA; a niece Kristen Perry and her husband Jim of Boston; a niece Aime Duell and her husband, Dr. John Duell, and their children Lucy, Alexander, and Issac, of Dartmouth, MA; a niece Dori Aleksandrowicz of Boston, MA; and a brother-in-law, Edward Lokiec and his wife Elizabeth of Andover.
His family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 3-5 p.m., at the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield Ave., Hartford. Family and friends may gather on Monday, November 17, 9 a.m., at the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court, Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
