Kenneth F. Deiter, age 74, of Wayne, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on August 23, 1950, in Wayne, to the late Melvin E. & Lela A. (Damschroder) Deiter. Ken married Janice (Jan) A. Kline on January 21, 1972, at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Elliston, Ohio.

Surviving Ken is his loving wife of 53 years, Jan; son, DJ (Amy Walters-Deiter) Deiter of Bowling Green; daughter, Stephanie (Jason) Herr of Wayne; sister, Orvella Rutherford, Friendly WV; grandchildren, Austin (Mia) Switzer, Cameron Deiter, Landon Deiter, Bryant Switzer & Peyton Switzer, Jessica Herr, Kaitlyn Herr, Remington Herr; great-grandchildren, Amelia Dale, Sadie Switzer, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Margaret Sewell; brother-in-law Bob Sewell; and brother-in-law, Vic Rutherford.

Ken was a 1968 graduate of Elmwood High School and then served his Country proudly in the United States Army National Guard. Over the years he held many different occupations including Welder by trade, Manager of Domino's Pizza in Bowling Green, assisted his Dad on the family farm, supervisor at Ottawa Rubber, and most recently was a Financial Advisor and Chapter Coordinator at Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial. Ken was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, archery, and had a special passion for raising bunnies and training beagles/hunting dogs. He could often be found sitting in a chair in the back yard or in his shop watching the neighborhood activity and wildlife. His greatest love in life though was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ken was also a member of the Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338 in Bradner.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday August 9, 2025, from 12-4 pm at the American Legion Hall in Bradner, Ohio. The service will be officiated by Paul Rutledge with a military honors ceremony presented by the American Legion. There will be a luncheon provided by the Legion Auxiliary and First Church of Gods Women's group. The family requests casual dress if you have red, white and blue or camouflage please wear it to honor Kens love of his country and for hunting.
