In Loving Memory of Kenneth "Ken" DeSimone
August 25, 1961 – August 31, 2025
Ken DeSimone, 64, of Titusville, Florida, peacefully concluded his earthly journey on August 31, 2025. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on August 25, 1961, he was the beloved son of Jeanne (Faulkner) Miller and Alfred DeSimone.
Ken is survived by his devoted wife, Kimberly DeSimone; his loving parents; his sister, Karen, and her husband, Dan, along with their children and grandchildren; and his brother-in-law, Timothy Miller. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Julius "Pops" Miller, who embraced the role of father with boundless love and guidance; his father-in-law, Robert C. Miller; his mother-in-law, Louvenia, and her husband, Benjamin Martin; and his maternal and paternal grandparents, who all played foundational roles in his life.
Ken's professional life was marked by his dedication to his craft. As a journeyman electrician and radiographer, he built a reputation as both a skilled tradesman and an innovative thinker. Later, he founded his own business, where his passion for craftsmanship and problem-solving thrived.
Beyond work, Ken was a man of many interests. He found joy in creating cigar-box guitars, marveling at the ever-changing sky, and devouring books on a wide range of subjects. His intellectual curiosity was boundless, and he had a sharp wit that made him an engaging conversationalist and a lover of debate. For Ken, there was no greater joy than a thoughtful exchange of ideas-a good, spirited discussion was, in his words, "as exhilarating as a fencing contest."
Ken's life was defined by his unrelenting curiosity, his devotion to his family, and his deep belief in the power of human connection. He once reflected, "I believe all humans share a common purpose in life, and that is to enlighten and be enlightened by each other." It was in this spirit of mutual learning and growth that Ken found the most meaning in his interactions with others, always seeking to understand and be understood.
As we gather to celebrate his life, let us remember the man who, with every conversation and every project, brought us closer together. Ken's legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched-through his family, his work, and his friendships.
The family invites all who knew Ken to join in a Celebration of Life, where we will honor his memory and share the stories that defined him. Date: September 27, 2025
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Location: 2814 Mourning Dove Way, Titusville, Florida, 32780
In Ken's own words: "I guess the easiest way for me to describe myself is with some things that I enjoy, namely people, their thoughts, and their words. What I enjoy most, though, is conversation. There is no other form of communication quite like the face-to-face, mind-to-mind connection of dialogue between people… A good, intelligent argument can be as exhilarating as a fencing contest, using thoughts and words in place of sabers."
Ken's words capture the essence of who he was-a man who cherished knowledge, connection, and the vibrant exchange of ideas. Let us carry forward his spirit of curiosity, love, and intellectual engagement as we come together to honor him.
