Ken was a warm and caring person who was a joy to know. He was faithful in church projects in various ways. We always knew he would have something to contribute to our Dorcas silent auction. He and Marie were exemplary models of a Christian marriage. He and Marie were greatly missed when they moved.

I met Ken and Marie at Sandstone Congregational Church over 10 years ago. What a sweet couple, always a nice welcome with a smile. I have missed them since they moved but glad they were closer to family. Prayers to the family as Ken is now in the arms of Jesus.

This oil painting by Marie Dunlap was the Glen Dunlap family home in Jackson, Michigan. Duane was a wonderful brother. I will always miss him and his special smile. Love, Betty

I had the pleasure of meeting Ken back in the mid 1980s. At the time, I was 20-some years old and looking for an old Ford Model T. It was suggested to me by a mutual friend that I contact Ken and ask for his help with finding a car. Little did Ken know what he was getting himself into. Not only did he help me acquire a car, but he helped me get it home (30 miles), got it running (after many months of work) and taught me how to drive it. Ken taught me how to drive on is his own, perfectly restored, Model T. The lessons involved many stalled engines, and panic stops. At one point, I almost put both us and his beloved Model T in the ditch. After Ken regained his composure, he turned and said "that wasn´t quite right, so whatever you did, don´t do that again". We both laughed. He was a kind and gentle soul and I am privileged to call him and Marie friends. The world will not be the same place without him.

I knew your Dad over the years from my father( Don Lake), he was into the Antique Cars as well. he would often go over to Duane's house and horse trade on the antique parts and would go to the car show as well. Greenfield Village was always the big one for him. Pretty sure all the friend's your dad knew ,my father knew them too! God Bless

Even in his later years when I knew him, Duane was friendly, happy, and industrious. I had the pleasure of seeing him cane a chair seat, one of his many hobbies. It was clear he took pride in his work...but what else would we expect from one of The Greatest Generation? The love and devotion he shared with Marie was exceptional. To Marie and to my dear friend, Jeanne, I send my deepest condolences. I also share in your gratitude for the many wonderful years you had Duane in your lives. God bless you both!!
