Ken was born in Monroe, IA on 9/3/1943 to Howard and Doris Dunlavy. He attended school in Mitchellville IA. After graduation Ken joined the Iowa Air National Guard. He also started working at Hy-Vee, where he worked for 39 years. He married Freda "Fritz" Sutter in July 1970. They had 3 daughters. They made their home in Altoona for over 50 years.
Ken was an avid bowler. He bowled for years and was quite good at it. He once bowled an almost perfect game, 299. He was also a huge sports fan watching professional football and college sports. He loved his Iowa teams. He loved gardening and working in his yard.
Ken is survived by his wife, Freda "Fritz", 3 daughters, Connie (David) Stephens, Burneyville OK, Robin (Byron) Clark, Clearmont MO, Kendra Dunlavy, Altoona IA, 6 grandchildren, Austin (Jaylen) Morrill, Nicole Morrill, Rena (Sebastian) Thomas, Brendon Wilson, Gracie Stephens, Clinton (Shelby) Stephens, 2 great grandsons Luke and Easton. Brother Larry (Barb) Dunlavy, Altoona, sister Deanna VanCleve, Orlando, Florida, Sister Zona Green, Moody Texas. Many many brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Doris Dunlavy, and a sister Joy Lee Steinberger. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
