Kenneth Durst Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by MeadowLawn Funeral Home, Crematory and Cemetery on Jan. 12, 2026.
Kenneth Durst, age 68, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2026. He was born on January 9, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas.

Kenneth was a proud graduate of Fox Tech High School, Class of 1976. Throughout his life, he held a variety of jobs, including positions with the State Hospital, the San Antonio River Authority, and a recycling center. No matter where he worked, Kenneth was known as a hardworking and dependable man who was always willing to help others.

Kenneth had a heart for everyone he met. He never hesitated to lend a hand and was known for his generosity and kindness. He was a great cook-his barbecue was legendary and loved by all who tasted it. A devoted sports fan, Kenneth proudly supported the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching all sports.

He was truly the life of the party; he loved playing his music. His favorite artists were Luther Vandross and Mary J Blige. He was always joking, laughing, and making others smile. Above all else, Kenneth loved the Lord and his family deeply. Kenneth favorite saying was family is all we got. He cared greatly for his nieces and nephews, as well as his great nieces and great nephews, and was always there for them. His compassion extended beyond people, as he faithfully cared for and fed the neighborhood cats.

Kenneth Durst will be remembered for his loving heart, his humor, his generosity, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Durst; brothers, Wallace Durst, David Ollison, and Donnie Durst. He will be dearly missed by sisters, Kathryn Davis and Mary Perryman; brother, Dennis Durst (Denise Durst); niece, Jackie Gipson; nephew Ronnie Davis and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews; best friends, Bennie Richardson, Kenneth Lee and Jacoby Jackson.
