Kenneth Ferguson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin-Dugger Funeral Home - Elk City on Jan. 12, 2026.
Kenneth Ferguson, 87, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on March 24, 1938, in Leedey, Oklahoma. He is the son of Leslie and Elsie Marie (Webb) Ferguson. Kenneth went to walk with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Saint Anthony Hospital, Midwest City, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.
Kenneth grew up on a farm near Leedey, Oklahoma and attended Leedey Schools, graduating with the class of 1956. Kenneth was proudly drafted to serve his country in the United States Army in May 1962 and was honorably discharged in May 1964.
He married the love of his life, Shirley Mutschler, on August 4, 1964, in Sayre, Oklahoma. Together they spent sixty-one wonderful years of marriage together, and to this union two sons were born, Gerald Gene, and Dennis Keith.
Soon after their marriage they moved to Panhandle, Texas where Kenneth began working on a farm. In 1973, they moved to Elk City, Oklahoma and made their home since.
Kenneth was a hard worker and farmer at heart and he loved farming the land. He worked on the Thornton Ranch until 1996, then began working for Glo-Valve, now Pro-Petro, and worked night-shifts at Walmart for fifteen years. Kenneth liked mowing his yard, building items in his shop and loved tending to his garden and raising okra. He was always looking for people to give away items from his garden.
Kenneth was a member of the 5th and Elk Church of Christ in Elk City, Oklahoma. He loved spending time with his family. Kenneth was always willing to help anyone in need and will be deeply and greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel, Elk City, Oklahoma. Dennis Knight will officiate. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing his memory is his wife, Shirley Ferguson of Elk City, Oklahoma; one son, Dennis Keith Ferguson of Elk City, Oklahoma; one brother, Edward "Ed" Ferguson of Denton, Texas; and a host of other family members.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his infant son, Gerald Gene Ferguson; his parents, Leslie and Elsie Marie Ferguson and two brothers, Celo Ferguson and Thurman Ferguson.
