Kenneth Gerard Gillard, age 64, lovingly knows as Ken left this world after multiple health complications Friday December 26, 2025 at Covenant Medical Center Harrison Campus in Saginaw, Michigan. Ken was born November 9, 1961 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Bertram and Lorna (Ancel) Gillard. He attended college and received his Associate's Degree and began a long time career in heating, cooling, and plumbing working for multiple companies around the area. Ken was a jack of all trades working and fixing about anything. He and Kathie bought their current home and together they tackled remodeling. He replaced most everything with his own hands from the furnace to the electric. Ken was a Lions and Michigan State University fan. Although he has a University of Michigan hat on in this picture, he wasn't a fan of "all the lawyers" coming out of University of Michigan according to Kathie. In his spare time, Ken enjoyed playing keyboards and the bass guitar. At one time, he was playing in a band, however, he enjoyed playing with his son even more. When his health allowed, Ken enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling to the UP where they had family and friends and were always "welcomed home".
Ken is survived by his loving wife, the former Kathleen Rose Olson, whom he married June 9, 1987 in Bay City, Michigan; son, Peter Gillard of Colorado; two brothers' three sisters; one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Bertram and Lorna, Ken was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Gillard and two brothers.
