Kenneth Albert "Buck" Goldsmith

1931 - 2026

Kenneth Albert "Buck" Goldsmith, 94, of Waldorf, MD, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Born on April 16th in Washington, D.C., Buck was raised on the farm and graduated from LaPlata High School in 1948. Throughout his life, he lived in many places, including Thailand-where he met his beautiful wife-as well as Kuwait and Texas. After entering and proudly serving in the United States Air Force in 1951 as a cartographic and planning draftsman, Buck began his professional career in 1958 in Bangkok, Thailand with Transportation Consultant, Inc. as an Administrative Manager and Chief Draftsman. He later joined DeLeuw Cather and Co. (now the Parsons Corporation) in 1967. His career kept him overseas for more than 25 years, where he built a rewarding work life, formed lasting friendships, and created many cherished memories. After returning to the states, Buck happily retired from the D.C. office in 2001. No matter where life took him, Waldorf was always his true home.

Retirement brought a joyful new chapter filled with golf trips, visits with friends near and far, and adventures exploring new places with his wife. At home, Buck found his greatest joy in his family. He loved tending to the family farm and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren - sharing stories, laughter and wisdom. Buck was steady, protective, generous, and deeply devoted to those he loved. His life was not only defined by love of family, but an appreciation for the simple joys of life. Though Buck traveled on to his final journey, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and family he cherished so deeply.

Buck is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Netty, his children and grandchildren, Kathy Blanton (Nicholas and Kyle), Ken Jr. & Susanne Goldsmith (Brendan and Connor), and Sara & Joshua Adams (Brooklynn and Braxon).

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and loved.

Family will receive visitors at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue LaPlata, MD 20646, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peters Drive Waldorf, MD 20601.
