Kenneth Greer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 15, 2025.
Ken Greer, born on June 18, 1960, to Clarence and Viola Greer, passed away suddenly at home on November 7, 2025, at the age of 65.

Ken grew up in Deer Park and was known for his deep love of Jesus, his passion for motorcycles and cars, and his steadfast devotion to his family. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, faith, and generous spirit.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Joanne Greer, his children Lindsay and Jared Lofstrom, Kelley and Barry Humes, and Dan and Ashley Greer, and by his eight treasured grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings George and Maralee Greer, Sandi Greer-Gatlin, and Connie Lee, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Ken lived his life with purpose and joy, always ready with a helping hand, a good story, or a word of encouragement. His faith guided him, his family grounded him, and his friendships enriched his days. Those who knew him will remember his big heart, his laughter, and his unwavering belief in God's goodness.

My parents (Debby and Jeff) and I got know the Greer family pretty well many years ago. Between attending the same church, potlucks, playing lots and lots of basketball with Lindsay, and spending time at their house we have so many great core memories!
My dad and Ken have been lunch and golf buddies for quite sometime now, I started to join them on the golf course this summer and we always had a great time.
Ken decided to do the funniest thing on the golf course one day-his club went into the water.... he really liked that club so he went neck deep into the nasty pond looking for it. Everyone laughed and took pictures. We won't forget that one!
He will be missed by many

When my family moved to the Deer Park area to be that pastor of Tri-County Christian Center in June of 2001, Ken and Joanne and family were some of the first people we got to know. Ken loved his family and supported them in their sports and other activities. In those early years I sat with him and others at multiple DPHS football games. He was also someone who worked with integrity and professionalism in his business. Both Ken and Joanne have consistently invested so much of their time and energy in Deer Park and Ken will definitely be missed by many. God bless and keep the family as they walk through this difficult time together.

Kenny and I definitely met before we were born and I am here because of him. Not only does one sister get pregnant and a couple months later the other gets pregnant but he literally saved my life twice. Once when we were playing hide and seek we were both running to hide above the calf pen and I crawled in an old refrigerator that locked when you close the door as the door closed I heard my mom call lunch was ready but I was locked inside with no air freaking out Kenny open the door and said hey Lunch is ready. Another time when we were 19 or 20 I had gone up to monumental Mountain bear hunting alone got lost and turned around but I was on a road close to dark no food no water and bombing down the road is Kenny nobody else for miles and miles after going down the road over 10 miles we finally found my campsite God has sent him to rescue me. But most importantly when we were five or six at Vacation Bible School at the Nazarene Church in Deer Park and the preacher said do you want to come up and get saved he looked at me and said do you want to go up and I said yeah so we went up and we're saved together something I've never forgot and always held on to. Growing up playing Cowboys and Indians starting fires when we're playing with matches climbing on the big rock riding our bicycles to school he was always more then a friend and cared about me unquestionably and loved me deeply more recently when he was going to do some electrical work for me and it didn't work out because he got in a motorcycle wreck my text to him 2 weeks ago was don't worry about it got another contractor to do the job take it easy get better and I love you and I don't need to lose any more cousins right now. he sent me a peace sign I love you Kenny and will miss you

It was an honor to know Ken! Didnt meet him until high school in football practice, he scared me as he was a fantastic player, but he was never mean, always quick with a smile and glad to say I knew him! He has a wonderful family and I am blessed to know them as well, he left a wonderful legacy and will be missed by all who knew him!
