Hemmingsen Funeral Home - AuburnKenneth L. Grossoehme was born March 25, 1936, on a farm west of Nemaha, Nebraska to Walter and Matilda (Woods) Grossoehme. The youngest of nine children, he attended Bell School through the third grade before transferring to Auburn Public Schools, where he graduated in 1954. On March 26, 1956, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on May 26, 1960, in Alexandria, Louisiana.
On October 10, 1960, he was united in marriage to May Rose Ducote in Cottonport, Louisiana. To this union five children were born. The marriage ended in divorce in 1982. On February 24, 1991, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline (Jackie) Dallmann in Russell, Kansas.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters, sons Todd and Scott and the love of his life Jackie. He is survived by his son Kevin (Jackie) of Milwaukee, WI, daughter Shona of Malmo, NE, and son Blaine (Noel) of Overbrook, KS; four grandsons, five granddaughters; and eight great grandkids along with many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth spent several decades as a public servant working in Law Enforcement for the Wahoo Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, and Dickinson County Sherif’s Office (Kansas).
Kenneth passed from this life on September 10, 2025, at his home in Baldwin City, Kansas surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy battle with Leukemia.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at Franklin, Nebraska.
