Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home - Wittenberg on May 3, 2025.
Kenneth L. Hafferman (Grey Fox), 92, of Bowler, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Rosemary Manor in Mattoon.
Born on September 17, 1932, in Shawano, to John and Elba (Wockenfus) Hafferman.
On July 7, 1956, he married Ruth Maus at the former St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Bowler, beginning a lifelong journey. He was a member of the former St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Bowler, and most recently a member at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda.
Kenneth was a hard worker. He and Ruth farmed and logged in Bowler for many years. Kenneth also did factory work in the winter months in Milwaukee and worked at Four Wheel Drive in Clintonville. Ken's main 'job' was hunting, fishing and trapping. He loved being outdoors feeding the birds and deer and enjoyed his morning truck ride with his dogs to check on the neighborhood.
Kenneth is survived by children: Cindy (John) Miller, Kurt (Cheri) Hafferman, Debbie (Terry) Miller, and Diane Hafferman; his grandchildren: Logan (Gina) Miller, Jessica (Casey) Culhane, Rachel (Darin) VenRooy, Kristi (Mike) Parker, Josh (Jordan) Hafferman, Erin (Aaron) Wisnefske, Melanie (Eddie) Exferd, and Duane "Rocky" (Chelsie) Schreiber III; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one granddaughter; siblings, Rolland, Lester, Donald, Mavis, Genevieve, and Alice.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda, officiated by Vicar Jim Hartleben. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Almon, Shawano County. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rosemary Manor for their wonderful care given to Kenneth and Ruth over the last few months.
