Ruth Hafferman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home - Wittenberg on Mar. 29, 2025.
Ruth A. Hafferman, 85, of Bowler, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital.
Born on May 16, 1939, in Green Bay to Sylvester and Margaret (Nockerts) Maus, Ruth grew up with a deep love for family, faith, and the simple joys of life. On July 7, 1956, she married Kenneth Hafferman at the former St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Bowler, beginning a lifelong journey.
Ruth was a hard worker. She and Kenneth farmed in Bowler for many years. She also worked several years at Mattoon Veneer Mill before continuing her service to the community as a waitress at Mary's Place and later as a cook at North Star Casino.
She was a member of the former St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Bowler, and most recently a member at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda.
She found joy in the beauty of nature, tending to her beloved flower beds and watching the birds that visited her home. Ruth enjoyed cooking for her family. Ruth's greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great-granddaughter.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth; children: Cindy (John) Miller, Kurt (Cheri) Hafferman, Debbie (Terry) Miller, and Diane Hafferman; her grandchildren: Logan (Gina) Miller, Jessica (Casey) Culhane, Rachel (Darin) VenRooy, Kristi (Mike) Parker, Josh (Jordan) Hafferman, Erin (Aaron) Wisnefske, Melanie (Eddie) Exferd, and Duane "Rocky" (Chelsie) Schreiber III; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her siblings: Roy Maus, Betty Mogenson, Shirley Clauss, Judy (Mike) Thiex, and Janet Walter, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Harold, Ted, John, Ronald, Roger, Richard, Robert, James in infancy, Dorothy, Karen and Bernice.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda, officiated by Vicar Jim Hartleben. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Almon, Shawano County. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
