Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Harris
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Harris Sr, Kenny, who transitioned from our world in his Prunedale home in the morning hours of January 10, 2023, Tuesday, surrounded by his family.
Kenny was born in November 21,1949 in Salinas, California. He was raised with his mom and dad, three brothers, and many cousins. His family was most important to him and to his grandkids he was their 'Poppie'. Some of his favorite hobbies included boating with family, weight lifting, and attending live music shows. When asked how he was doing his response was 'Fat and Sassy'.
He survived by his children Sheila Jeanette Harris and Kenneth Wayne Harris Jr (Deena), his grandchildren Nathan Harris, Kennedy Furuyama (Maddy), Bailey Furuyama (Nick), and Faye Harris, his brothers Danny Harris (Sandra) and Mikey Harris (Susie), his compas, godchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Clifton Harris Sr and Margaret Faye Harris (born Latham) and his brother Floyd Clifton Harris Jr.
Visitation on January 16, 2023 from 1 - 5 pm at the Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd, Salinas, CA.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Mortuary Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 850 Abbott St, Salinas, CA.
A Celebration of Life will follow burial 2:00pm ending at 6:00 pm at the American Legion Post 593, 8300 Prunedale North Rd, Salinas
